I hired this Lawyer hired to represent me in a "Contested Divorce Hearing", where I had already filed the paperwork as Pro-Se. I PAID him $1,500 for his services. My case was stalled in court over property issues & I was advised by the Judge to obtain legal counsel in order to stop my ex from extendi...ng this case any further. I hired this Lawyer , bringing with me, all the required notarized documents & forms that had been filed with the courts. ALL HE HAD TO DO was represent me. After signing the contract he dissapeared for nearly 2 months, refusing to answer my calls or faxes. His VM always said he was either "in the hospital the week of" or "I will be tied up on a complex courtcase" . I had to check the court website DAILY for updates on my case & then notify my Lawyer of the latest developments. He never knew anything, and was always going to follow-up w/me after checking things out, and NEVER, EVER followed up with me! . I filed a complaint w/the ARDC. www.iardc.org as well.
