Unprofessional Attorney

As I litigation adjuster for over 35 years, I worked with many attorneys but none as unprofessional as Cuscaden. He represents Shodeen whom I certain all have heard of. I was a tenant in one of their buildings paying $2,240 a month. After a serious car accident (not my fault) I had to retire and t...old the apartment Manager, Monica that I could no longer afford the rent and had to move or be evicted. I spoke to Cuscaden yesterday and he told me that he would not chase a senior citizen across the country to AZ where the rent is half. He has yet to file suit 30 days later or issue any letters. The property manager keeps telling prospective landlords in AZ that my case is in legal which it is not. He was rude to me yesterday on the phone and via e-mail today. FILE suit if my case is in legal so that I may go on with my life and my new hip!!!!

Doug Cuscaden did an excellent job for me. He met my expectations in a timely and efficient manner. I would certainly use him again in the future.

Runaway Attorney

I hired Doug as a lawyer for my business issue case in February 2019. He assured me that my case is a piece of cake and he will get court order at no time. He specified dollar amount for "best case" scenario and "worse case" scenario. Within a month into his time as my lawyer, even before we appea...red on front of the judge, "worth case" scenario hit the mark. He completed tasks which were not even part of the case and sent to me invoice for these tasks. When we went on front of the judge for first time, he told to the judge that his assistant made mistake by sending summons to people which should not be served at that time. But those tasks were included in my invoice. When judge scheduled next step and I asked questions about it, Doug could not explain to me what judge scheduled and why we are going this route. Instead he got upset because he could not answer my questions, and he notified me that he is withdrawing from my case, stating that I expressed in no uncertain terms my dissatisfaction with his actions in Court. What kind of professional does this? He did take a lot of money from me and did nothing. Instead, when our mutually agreed budget ran out, he ran out as well. He ran from just couple of valuable questions which I asked him as a client. DO NOT HIRE HIM OR HIS FIRM.

Terrible representation

I hired Doug as my divorce lawyer in Jan' 2018. He talked a big game at first acting like my case was very much attainable and that I would be able to get fair compensation. Shortly into his time as my lawyer, I started to notice he would never answer my emails, only respond to a random question I ha...d and never be around to take my phone calls...or I'd wait days for just a response. Fast forward 7 months and my divorce is still NOT done, he's taken a lot of money from me and I'm left with nothing from the divorce. And to top it all off, when I sent him an email asking for him to explain why everything went south, he withdrew as my council!! He stated he "didn't like the tone of the email that I sent". What kind of divorce lawyer runs away from an email?? So, after paying this man a lot of money, he scurried back into his hole with his tail between his legs. Seriously, if you're looking for a bulldog, this guy is a creampuff. He'll take your money, make you feel good about it and do a terrible job representing you. DO NOT HIRE HIM OR HIS FIRM.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM

I hired Mr. Cuscaden to represent me in my divorce case. As time went on I was very disappointed in how he represented me. He stopped taking my calls and started ignoring my emails. What should have been a simple divorce(his words, not mine) ended up taking over two years under billable hours!! I... felt totally taken advantage. He was totally unprepared for the final trial date and in fact was late for the court apperance. I have since hired a new attorney and could not be more please with the respect I an now being given.
