I had a perfect clean driving record until 2010. (over 25 years). I was caught speeding at 35 on a 25mile zone. The cop would not let me go with a fine. I was asked to appear before a judge to get 3 months of court supervision and a $75 fine. I was on an overseas assignment and could not appear in c...ourt. I hired James Mehl. He asked for $250 and I paid him via cheque that was cashed. He assured me, given my clean record, its easy and would be taken care off. I believed him and assumed he had it handled. When I went to get car insurance 2 years later with a new company and they checked my record, I had 2 points on the license - My first ever points. He is a lawyer and they swear to be ethical - well, he decided - he would just pocket the money and never show up.
