Howard Peritz

Howard was the worst lawyer, and one of the worst professionals I have ever dealt with. I contacted him to do estate planning and set up some asset protection for my family. He was great at first and recommended a solution, and the moment I paid him everything went to hell. What was supposed to take ..."a few weeks" took 6 months, was done incorrectly, and I had to contact a second attorney to contact him to provide the services I had paid for. He made errors in our wills, he forgot numerous times about meetings with my family to sign documents (wasting two hours round trip driving), gave possibly 15 promises in email regarding when I would have documents, and every one of them were broken. At some point he stated that my documents had been sent but did not receive tracking information.....they are considered "Lost by the post office" to him so God knows if he actually sent them out and someone has my estate planning, or if he just gave me one more BS excuse. I am currently paying someone else to undo some of the work Howard did and correct it. The new practice stated he used cookie cutter templates that did not even speak to IL laws correctly. He is unorganized and has no customer service skills. I wouldn't recommend him for anything.

I worked with Howard Peritz while getting ready to launch my business in Chicago. Howard and his staff totally impressed me. I was kept in the loop on everything that was happening with my project. He outlined all the things I could expect in the entire process and made something I considered to be d...ifficult, rounding up various legal work and documents, into something that left me confident that I was ready to launch once we were done. My venture has so far been successful and legally sound; I think a lot of it had to do with having Howard there for me in the beginning. Initially, I had some reservations about hiring an attorney to handle my work because I thought I could do it myself with some of the cookie cutter legal services sites and save a few bucks, but quickly learned after meeting with him the first time how that would have turned into a risky scenario in the future. Oh, the things I never even thought about, but so glad he knows about… I had a lot of things on my legal to-do list and I liked that I was able to focus on my business, not about my possible legal loose ends after it was too late to start off right.
