My first attorney and my ex's were both dragging out the divorce and milking it for everything it was worth. After more than a year, I decided to change attorneys and hired Martin. He is knowlegeable (brought things to my attention that my first lawyer never mentioned), proactive (was able to work w...ith my ex's lawyer who was contentious in everything he did), and was able to finalize my divorce in a few months. Yes, he has a strong personality (had to ask me to stop talking and listen several times), but he definitely knows what he is doing and is very professional. I wish I had found him in the beginning of my divorce ... I was definitely glad I made the switch!

I consider myself extremely lucky for finding Mr. Coonen. He is professional, decent, respectful, extremely knowledgeable and excellent in court. He has always informed me of what is going on and has always answered my questions with detail and clarity. He is beyond good during court proceedings a...nd does his preparation very well.

Condescending and rude. I was never up to date on how my case was progressing, or not progressing at all in my case....at least not in my favor what so ever. It dragged on without explanation, and it was pretty cut and dry per previous judgment. On vacation often. Didn't respond to emails or re...turn calls, and I very seldom even bothered to call or write. The infrequent calls I made, were met with annoyance and rude responses leaving one unsettled, frustrated and confused. The emails were strange, he would write to tell me how upset my ex was feeling regarding my petition to pay/collect what he owes. Very strange! The service that was provided was expensive, useless and heartbreaking. During such an emotional and destructive process, this is not a person that has the communicative skills (professional knowledge or drive) to give a damn, and he had no problem making sure I knew it. It was a terrible feeling, having no clue why my attorney had no interest in doing anything but bill me for what I could have done Pro Se....absolutely nothing.
