Very professional
I was involved in a car accident and wasn't sure what to do. Susan and her team coached me through the whole process. There were times when I was frustrated and confused but she handled all of my concerns in a very professional manner.

Excellent Attorney
Susan Marks is an excellent attorney. What she says is true and she can be trusted to do all that is possible. She knows the law and seeks the best for her clients. In addition to doing a great job, she is not one to “run up” the legal fees unnecessarily. She has been a great comfort in this challenging situation.

Be careful!
I met Susan while attempting to represent myself in court. The judge told me I needed to hire an attorney, and there she was, searching for clients. After being in business as long as she has, I should have known something was wrong if she needed to hang out in the courtroom to gather clients. I met with Susan in her office, and she talked down to me and belittled me left and right. She kept saying that she knows best because she's the one with the law degree, but she wasn't listening to what I wanted. As the client, I should tell her what I'm trying to accomplish, and it's her job to attempt to make it happen in a legal context. At the end of our meeting, she said something along the lines of me wasting her time trying to get free legal advice without retaining her, and that I didn't want to spend what I needed to spend on her. It was very unprofessional and a surefire way for her to keep having to go back to the courtroom to find clients. In the end, I retained another attorney (who charged 150% the hourly rate that Ms Marks does, so as you can see, it wasn't that I didn't want to pay for quality representation). I'm glad I went in a different direction, as I won my case and worked with an attorney who spoke to me like I had some intelligence.

I’m sorry you had an unpleasant experience during your free consultation. I have been an attorney and litigator for more than ten years and I have served hundreds of divorce, paternity and family law clients. I strive to generate the best possible outcome for all my clients in a compassionate environment. With most of our initial consultations we are the right law firm for the individual. However we do have a few individuals that we don’t necessarily “click” with. This is why we offer a free initial consultation. This allows the not only the client, but the firm, an opportunity to determine if it would be a good fit for an attorney/client relationship. I do not look for clients in court. I do however provide pro bono services several times a year in the court as a court facilitator in the domestic relation courts and at the pro se' help desk. I am glad you found an attorney you feel comfortable with for your situation.
