John Michael O'Toole

John O’Toole, possesses a strong foundation of legal experience shaped by the many roles he has filled in life. A graduate of West Point, he served our nation as an army infantry officer before returning to civilian life.

In his 30 years in the insurance industry, Mr. O’Toole worked as a company adjuster/claims evaluator, underwriter and broker. He had key roles within several of the largest underwriting and insurance wholesale brokerage companies, including the company that pioneered the first Employment Lawyer Chicago policy.

Few other legal practitioners can claim the extensive education, skill and well-rounded experience that Mr. O’Toole holds. In addition to the experience described above, he also:

• A certified public accountant (CPA) (inactive)
• Holds an advanced law degree (LL.M) in taxation
• Awarded the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Reinsurance Education Scholar designation from the Reinsurance Association of America. Reinsurance law is a highly complex and niche area of both insurance and litigation.
• Has undergone advanced trial training through the American Bar Association National Trial Practice Program in Reno, Nevada, and The Fred Lane Trial Practice Program sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association and various state and bar association litigation skills seminars and conferences
