This woman was recommended by a male friend. She did his divorce 20+ years ago. I am very articulate. I told her upfront what my case is about and what I was looking to do and in what time frame. We met for a consultation. Most attorneys offered free consultations. She charged $250. I was hesitant ...but if I hired her, I knew it would go toward the retainer. So after I started talking about my case...she started saying all this strange comments - like she never heard what I said before. This was after a very detailed email by me. She had a tone of being accusatory ... like I'm a criminal. She kept saying, I don't work with clients who do this, or who do that, etc. Like she only wanted to take on cases that were amicable and very, very simple. But charging premium prices. I'm a professional woman who was married to a sociopath. I was looking for someone to watch my back...not accuse me. Then I catch her rolling her eyes at me and then she LIED about doing so! I told her upfront this was a timely issue. She then began saying she couldn;t touch my case for two months, blah, blah, blah. I asked her why she didn;t tell me that up front BEFORE i made the appt. BEFORE i handed her a check for $250 which she asks for upfront, by the way. And she didn't respond. What this person did do, was cash my check (a single mother with very little income) and THEN send me an email about how she didn't think she'd be a good fit for me. To me, there is no integrity nor honor with this person. Stay away.

Jeannette represented me in a long and difficult divorce, and she handled everything with exceptional care and skill. She was meticulous in explaining everything to me, and in showing me options which would be most beneficial to my situation. Calls and emails were returned promptly. My former spouse'...s attorney appeared to be only interested in making money, and Jeannette did a remarkable job at a conference with the judge and other attorney in moving the case toward resolution. I was extremely comfortable with Jeannette, and I felt that she really cared about me, and didn't just see me as another case. I have heard some horror stories about other divorce attorneys, and I am so grateful to have had Jeannette working on my behalf. I would recommend her to anyone needing a lawyer for divorce.
