Dedicated Criminal Defense Lawyer

After our first conversation about my case, Peter showed a tenacity and work ethic that I am incredibly grateful for. Peter was recommended to me through another law firm and I am so glad that he was. Peter kept in constant contact with me, through whatever means necessary, over the year and a half l...egal process I went through. Each step of the way he thoroughly explained what was happening, how it could affect my case, and what his best recommendation was. The entire time I was confidant that Peter was solely looking out for my best interest. Through his guidance and hard work I believe I obtained the best outcome possible in my situation. With Peter's guidance we were able to have multiple felony charges dropped and plead to a misdemeanor charge. I highly recommend using him in any criminal defense situation; his work ethic and dedication to me as a client was as if he was fighting for his own family member.

Phenomenal Attorney

From start to finish, Mr. Lacny was professional, diligent and secured a great result for me. He returned calls promptly, kept me in the loop with emails and made me feel like I was important and that my case mattered. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs an attorney.

The Best Criminal Defense Attorney In Missoula!!!!!

Peter came into my life at a time when my world was turned upside down. I realized very quickly that he was someone who I could trust to have my best interest at hand. I was looking at a lot of time in federal prison and from day one Peter was very honest in letting my family and I know that the char...ges were very serious and I would end up doing some time but that he was going to do everything he could to ensure it would be the least amount of time possible. I feel like Peter went above and beyond fighting to get me the minimum amount of time possible. He answered all of our phone calls and met with us in person several times. He took so much time getting to know us and treated me like a person, not a criminal. I would recommend him to anyone facing criminal charges..

Wouldn't use him for criminal!!!!!

When I had been arrested I was being shipped to to Missoula to answer my indictment. I was informed by someone that became a paralegal in prison or to retain a paid lawyer because they wouldn't do anything more then file the standard motions. This man also told me how much time I would do before I ev...en talked to a lawyer and he was right. So Peter was real cool and on the ball with everything at first, or so I thought. The easy going attitude appealed to me and when I asked questions he would answer with the laid back attitude like nothing was a big deal. This is my first major run I with the law by the way. So when I was going over some of my paper work over the next few months of my case I asked him why this or why that. He fed me some answers and i believed him because I was young and I didn't do my own home work. These are the things he could have helped me with and you can read it in the George Town journal if you question me. This was the 2013 edition I looked into when I was in prison. I asked about how the courts could use my childhood criminal history and I was told they can use anything that was held against me. However if it was contested I wouldn't have gone to a higher security prison or I would have probably had a better chance of not getting the high end of my guideline. I asked why the court was using both of my charges to give me more time was possible and the response was along the lines of...don't worry about it, they can do that. When I did my own research I found that what Peter said was not the case. One charge was dropped with prejudice which means they can't use it the way they did to boost the amount of time they gave me. They are allowed to in certain cases but my situation didn't fall into that particular category. Read the George Town journal on dropping charges with prejudice and you will know. My indictment came out a little over then a month before I got arrested. so I was arrested June 10th, I didn't see any paper work, no rights read to me, no one told me what I was charged with when I asked. Then I asked cops that took me to the station and they were baffled that I wasn't told my charges, so when I asked them to look it up they didn't understand the charge 'dangerous drugs' they never even heard of it! It's too ambiguous to just hold me for that. So I went to my arraignment 12 days later and when I requested my docket sheet I saw that I was 'arrested ' the day before my arraignment which makes no sense. I moved for extradition and then was arraigned again. The thing that really got me is that I didn't care about tying to appeal my case until I told my story to someone and he told me that it sounds messed up. I read the George Town journal and saw this stuff in particular and I was pissed because I asked Peter about these three things specifically!!! So my good friends sister pasted the bar and I wanted all my stuff shipped to her for her to check out and her lawyer friends. I told her about what I listed above. This was a little over a month before the year deadline for appeal. I told Peter which i shouldn't have but did ask him to ship her my files. I gave him her info and her mine. She tried to contact him and there was no reciprocation on peters side. A week after the year deadline for appeal I got a letter dated a day after the deadline asking if Peter should contact my friends sister.... Too late. So yes I'm a bit irritated I threw away 20,000 dollars or so I feel. But whatever, I messed up and now I'm out living life. I'm sure Peter had his reason for doing what he did but they obviously weren't in my favor and it's a bummer because I paid good money and thought he was more genuine then he turned out to be. Milt told me I could of got less time after I got sentenced without cooperation. I didn't believe him till after I read the George Town journal. Thanks milt. However, he didn't speak up when I got the high end and he guaranteed me I would get justice and the low end
