Leo F.J. Wilking received his B.A. from Harvard University in 1974 and a J.D. from Fordham University Law School in 1978. He served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Norh Dakota State Tax Department from 1979 to 1981 and as Staff Attorney in the Washington D.C. office of U.S. Senator Quentin N. Burdick from 1981 to 1982. From 1982 to 2007 Mr. Wilking had a civil litigation practice at Nilles Law Firm in Fargo, North Dakota, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In March 2011 Mr. Wilking started his own firm specializing in employment law and mediation under the name Wilking Law Firm.
Mr. Wilking is admitted to practice in the North Dakota Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for North Dakota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has tried cases to verdict in Federal district court in Bismarck and Fargo and in multiple state district courts, including courts in Cass, Grand Forks, Burleigh, Towner, Stutsman and Richland counties. He is a past president of the Cass County Bar Association and a former member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.
Mr. Wilking has completed the Certified Civil Mediation Skills Training offered by the Minnesota State Bar Association and is a qualified neutral listed on the North Dakota Statewide ADR Neutral Roster for Civil Mediation.

Mr. Wilking served as my attorney regarding employment and workplace matters during the criminal misdemeanor case (handled by a different attorney) filed by the DA's office against me for allegedly making threats in the workplace. The criminal case I ultimately won as it was pure fabrication. During ...
