Edward Keith Runyan

My practice includes all aspects of patent litigation, including infringement, validity, and enforceability, as well as patent damages.  I also provide counseling and evaluation of patent rights and obligations in a due diligence context.  I have prepared and prosecuted patent applications to assist clients in building strategic patent portfolios that protect the client’s technologies and help them achieve their business objectives.  I have extensive experience in dealing with semiconductor and telecommunications technologies involving wireless and wired communications, and also optical communications technology, imaging technology, aircraft navigation and control, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and financial transaction systems.

In addition to my legal experience, I was also a Master Systems Engineer at Sundstrand Aerospace (now Hamilton Sundstrand) in Rockford, IL where I was responsible for the design, development and support of electrical power generating systems for various business, commercial and military aircraft such as the B1 and B2 bombers, the Boeing KC-135R, 737, 757, and 767, the Airbus A319 and A320, and the Gulfstream GV, among others.
