I started out doing litigation, concentrating in personal injury, workers compensation, family law, and social security. I also did construction law and adoption because I have personal experience in both those areas. In 2005, due to the loss of my partner Blake Sobolik, out of necessity I transitioned more toward municipal law, water law, real estate, and general litigation. In the late 2000's when we saw the coming wave of retirees, our firm decided that I should transition again, this time into elder law, probate, and estate planning. I went back to law school to obtain an advanced degree (L.L.M.) in elder law. I still do a considerable amount of real estate pactice as well. For most of my practice, I've also been an assistant county attorney too.
I have litigation experience of pretty much every kind. I've prosecuted criminals, brought delinquency petitions for juveniles, handled mental health commitments, brought guardianships and conservatorships, sued out contract claims, fought over boundary lines, enforced real estate deals, established insurance coverage, obtained personal injury recoveries, received workers compensation awards, completed adoptions, and even recovered funds stolen from elderly victims.
