Joshua Mark Heggem

Josh Heggem works as a partner at Pemberton Law’s Fergus Falls location and maintains a general practice, focusing on employment and labor, municipal, public school law, and litigation.  He works with public entities, particularly schools, cities,
and counties in all areas of public sector law. Josh has a wide variety of experience handling employment related matters, especially workplace investigations, for both public and private employers.  He also has experience litigating many different kinds of legal disputes. He is a member of the firm's Civil Litigation and Employment & Labor Law practice groups.  He is licensed to practice in both Minnesota and North Dakota, and has experience representing clients in federal and tribal court.

Josh grew up in Aitkin, Minnesota and graduated magna cum laude from
Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Economics and a minor in Political Science.  He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School graduating cum laude.

Josh currently serves as President of the Otter Tail County Bar Association and is also the 2013-2014 President for the Seventh Judicial District Bar Association.  In the community, he is a Board Member for the United Way of Otter Tail County, and is a member of the Father’s Resource Advisory Committee.  He is also involved with Fergus Falls Noon Rotary, and volunteers his time to teach Parents Forever Classes and assist with Father’s Resource Law Clinics by giving advice to noncustodial parents who are representing themselves in court.  Josh also volunteers as the attorney coach for the Battle Lake High School Mock Trial Team, which he coaches with his wife, Shauna. 

Outside of the office, Josh enjoys golfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, hunting and fishing, and traveling. He is also interested in music and theatre, and was involved in both while at Gustavus and during law school.  Josh currently resides in Fergus Falls with his wife, Shauna, and three children.
