Bad Lawyer

She was my lawyer, she wasn’t honest and she was doing what’s best for the other party

Custody

I have only had an attorney one time in my life and Amie was my lawyer. This was a family law case and the service was subpar to say the least. In the custody order there were a number of errors which I had to proof read. There were 3 different instances where the documents she prepared had husband a...nd wife and had “child” where my kid’s name was supposed to be. Amie took a template changed a couple names and that is about it. To make matters worse when I asked to get even parenting time or to fight for my rights because I am a single parent, she basically said that was unrealistic. Then when I asked to fight this and how unfair I was being treated, she ended up dropping me and didn’t want to represent me anymore. I spent over $2,500 for a template with wrong information, not even fighting for me to get equal parenting time and then she drop me. I had a terrible experience and will never recommend for future services!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
