Wasted large amount of my time and billed me for it, I'm heavily considering reporting to the board of ethics.

I retained Mr. Beaumier in November and started giving him all of my court documents. I had to physically drive up to Two Harbors to gather documents cause he refused to submit himself as my lawyer to the courts until he'd finished the actual motion. It took him about 3 months to file my motion, ...in that time he continuously charged me to 'review' my case and then charged me to write emails requesting information I'd already given him. When confronted about this he refunded 1 hour of paralegal time, and blamed her, even though a lot of the information had been given directly to him. When we finally got to the early neutral evaluation, I wanted a piece of information that was granted in my arbitration agreement, but he advised to wait until the agreement became an order. I begrudgingly agreed and then after it became an order and I asked about it, he charged me another $700 to read 3 emails each about a paragraph long (in which I tried to assert my rights) and then advised me he wants a larger retainer to go back to court for something I should have had in the first place. Mr. Beaumier shows a complete lack of empathy for his clients and zero desire to actually perform the work you pay him for as he takes on average 1 week to respond to any email and will only correspond via his para, that way you have to pay both of them to type out an email. I cannot recommend to stay away from his practice highly enough.

I highly recommend this lawyer

I hired Mr Beaumier to handle a delicate real estate matter for me. He and his staff were very timely, courteous and professional. I was pleased with the overall experience and found his rates to be very reasonable.

Excellent family law attorney

My parents allowed themselves to get far too old before updating their estate plan. The plan was several decades old and left many questions unanswered in their aged state. In addition, many of their assets were located in several different states and records were poorly organized. Things were on... their way to becoming a potentially serious mess before we decided to consult an attorney. Fortunately Mr. Beaumier was able to construct a credible estate plan by working with the financial representatives overseeing the out-of-state assets in my parents possession. This service was performed for a fee that was far less than I was expecting. I would highly recommend this attorney for any legal work involving family law and estate planning.

Trustworthy, Attention to detail

Matt has worked on several different projects for me over the years, and has done an excellent job. He's a great transactional lawyer and also superb in the courtroom.

Current Client

I had Mr. Beaumier work on my divorce. When that was done, I was to receive the home and there was a title problem found. He was able to help me with that too. He was very profesional, prompt and made the issues easy to understand. I sent my sister to his firm for a bankruptcy also and his firm w...as great in getting that done.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
