Working with Jerry

I must admit, at the beginning of this endeavor I was extremely nervous and worried. When my injury happened I had no idea what to expect for the future or even what steps to take. I called Jerry's office and briefly explained my situation to his paralegal and she scheduled a phone consultation the ...following day with Jerry. As soon as I got on the phone with him, he immediately put me at ease by explaining the ins and outs of these types of cases and a basic what to expect, in a way that I could readily understand. To be honest, working with jerry was as easy as signing a few documents, answering a few phone calls, and going to my appointments. And to be completely honest i cant imagine a better way to get through a situation like that. I guess my favorite part about working with Jerry and his staff was the fact that I was treated like a personal friend rather than a client. I always felt like they kept my best interests in mind, and that is important to me. Or to anyone who is struggling with an injury that keeps them from working. Jerry is one heck of an attorney, but he was generally just a good guy and I am very lucky to have worked him. Thank you Mr. Sisk, my family and I are eternally grateful for your hard work and your dedication.

Jerry Sisk an honest caring attorney in the world of work comp claims

I injured my lower back while at work prior to speaking with Jerry Sisk a respectable attorney in my mind. I completed what I was required to at work regarding the injury but chose to try and heal with my own sick time and personal therapy. A few years later I continued to have more serious probl...ems with the same injury. I went to the doctor on my own dime and time table. Then remembered that I filed a first report of injury at work related to the same injury. When I attempted to gain assistance through my work I was informed to go pound sand (Trying to be nice). Anyways I contact the Law office of Thomas Mottaz to see if anything could be done. I met with Jerry Sisk and from day one he represented himself very honestly. I could tell that Jerry truly wanted to assist in anyway he could and was not afraid to tell me the truth about how things work in the work comp world. Jerry took my case on once we retrieved information from different doctors related to my condition. We ended up settling the case and I was able to accomplish my goal of connecting my injury to my employer which was the original idea to begin with. If anyone, I mean anyone is thinking twice about calling Jerry Sisk, stop waiting and pick the phone up. This was the most professional experience that I have ever had with an attorney and would not hesitate to call Jerry again for anything. Work comp claims can be a real hassle. Find an attornery that cares about you and not the money in the long run. Jerry is that guy. Thanks Jerry for all your help and assistance.

Jerry was very responsive to all my questions, concerns and showed compassion in this very difficult time of my life. He took time by email, phone and in person to help me understand the process, the time frame, and all the possibilities. Persevering in the duration of all the doctor visits, working ...with my employer, and my work related injury was not easy. Jerry handled all of it from our initial meeting to the final resolution with confidence, encouragement, and high integrity. I would strongly recommend Jerry to my family, my friends, and all of my acquaintances. I would without a doubt trust Jerry in the future, if a situation would occur that needed legal representation. I appreciate all he did in helping me get my life back on track and making a positive difference in my life.

JERRY IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL

Jerry Sisk has been my lawyer for the last 18 months. I am extremely satisfied with the way he has been handling my case. He listens to my questions and answers them in plain English that I can understand. I trust his advice 100 %. I was very leery and skeptical about talking with a lawyer about my... case but after talking with Jerry by phone the first time he makes you feel very comfortable ! He goes the xtra mile. He is extremely thorough and doesn't give up !! I highly recommend him to anyone that could use a work-comp lawyer.

former client

I was a client of Jerry Sisk. He handled the worker's comp case. I saw him treating me in a condescending manner by holding what I did as a teenager against me even though in happened in another century. I was no longer that teenager but a responsible professional. Many times he referenced; "re...member, I know about such and such". I have the records, It was my choice to give him that material thinking I had nothing to hide from my own attorney but guess I made a mistake. I did not like how he handled the case. He discussed what I saw as personal items of the case in front of the other sides attorneys. It was very uncomfortable. Yes, we lost the case. If we had won; I was still uncomfortable with the situation & it was too late to switch attorneys.

I appreciate the feedback. I strive to provide professional and competent legal services to my clients and it is unfortunate that this client felt like s/he had an experience other than that. I encourage all of my clients to communicate with me throughout the representation and let me know their concerns along the way so we can discuss them and address any misunderstandings. I welcome emails, phone calls and in person meetings from clients to express their concerns or questions. I am fully aware that most times this is the client’s first and only workers’ compensation case. I wish this client would have done that in this case. While I have no independent recollection of this client and the situation described, I encourage all my clients to be forthright with regard to their past history as it oftentimes plays a significant role in the handling of their case. Their past history will come into play when a judge or defense lawyer assesses the client’s truthfulness or what their physical condition was before the work injury. All of these factors a competent workers compensation lawyer would want to know when assessing a case. Again it is unfortunate that it was interpreted by this client as an attack instead of an attempt to provide good legal representation.

Relationship: Supervised lawyer

"Jerry Sisk is an excellent workers’ compensation attorney. Bright, energetic and talented – he possesses the willingness to try cases when necessary- balanced by the discernment to resolve disputes amicably where appropriate. Guided by a good moral compass and possessing a solid set of technical skills, Jerry provides superb representation for his clients. Jerry possesses an able grasp of the intricacies of the complex Minnesota Workers’ Compensation law. Before coming to work at the Law Office of Thomas D. Mottaz, he spent 5 years working at the premier St. Paul insurance defense firm of Heacox and Hartman. There he learned the nuts and bolts of defending a case. This tutelage prepared him well for his position. In addition to providing zealous and capable representation to his clients, Jerry also presents at various seminars and he periodically writes for local legal publications. Jerry is also very active in the local bar association. As such, I highly recommend him."
