Experienced. Compassionate. Collaborative.
These three words define who I am and what I offer to my clients. I have been practicing law in the Twin Cities area since 1986, helping families and their children find positive solutions to their problems.
I started my career as an associate attorney with Strusinski & Associates, P.A. in St. Paul. I handled the firm's family law practice, gaining extensive experience handling divorce cases. After several years, litigating these cases began to leave me and my clients feeling dissatisfied and disillusioned with the adversarial court system as a means for resolving the complicated, unique and often emotional issues presented in divorce cases. Fortunately, Minneapolis attorney Stu Webb, conceived of the Collaborative Law Process, whereby attorneys, along with trained financial and mental health professionals, assist parties positively restructure their families, while supporting the emotional landscape of their divorce. Conflict is reduced and you avoid the economic and emotional strain of litigation.
I became increasingly interested in Collaborative Law, and left Strusinski & Associates, P.A. to train in and focus on this process. In 1991, I founded my own firm devoted to helping clients through the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area resolve their family and marital disputes through more peaceful methods. I have spent the last 26 years developing my Collaborative Law Practice, earning a reputation for excellence among clients and colleagues alike. Collaborative Law is now practiced in 24 countries and has been a groundbreaking method of alternative dispute resolution.

Outstanding Divorce Lawyer!
Leslie was a pleasure to work with as my divorce lawyer. She was professional, knowledgeable, caring and always responded quickly and thoroughly to my emails and phone calls. Most importantly though was that she was a strong and effective advocate for me in seeking spousal support as part of my div...

I cannot say enough good things about Leslie
She was everything I could have asked for in a lawyer...thorough, knowledgeable, clear, creative, patient, understanding, kind and flexible. She kept me, and the other professionals, on track and on task. She answered all the questions I had and many more that I didn't know I should ask. After the ne...

Leslie was so organized, thorough and competent with my divorce case. She was efficient and reasonably priced as well. Made me feel confident that my case was in her expert hands. She was always available via phone, text or email and made a difficult process more reassuring.

Outstanding Attorney
I was extremely happy with Leslie as my attorney for my divorce proceedings. She was knowledgeable, kind, caring, dedicated, upfront, honest and most of all made me feel completely taken care of. I didn't have to worry about what was next because she told me what was expected, needed and how we would...
"Les is a practical, problem-solving attorney. She is collaborative in nature helping parties and their attorneys see a way to settle a case so that both parties get what they need without drama and angst. She can help a client both understand the finances of divorce and get parenting issues to move smoothly for families in transition. She has over 30 years of experience so she knows what a court would do and how the law applies so you won’t be railroaded into a bad deal. She uses tact and diplomacy whenever possible, to make it easy to come to an agreement, instead of an argument, in collaborative settlement meetings. Her location is easy to find in Brooklyn Park by the golf club on 86th Avenue N. and the parking is free. I was glad when she hosted settlement meetings because both of our clients felt comfortable meeting at her office building or waiting in her reception area."
"Leslie is an outstanding family law attorney who knows how to help clients get their best outcomes. I highly recommend her."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Les on a case and found her to be thoughtful, level-headed, focused on problem-solving and focusing on the whole family. She's no-nonsense in a good way. We reached settlement without spending a lot on legal fees and our clients finished feeling good about the settlement. Win-win!"
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Leslie for many years. I find her to be knowledgeable in her field, diligent and always looking out for the best interests of her clients. She is active in the collaborative practice movement which is dedicated to settlement of divorce and other family law issues without involvement of family court."
"I endorse this lawyer. We have been opposing counsel on several cases, and I have always found her to be tough but reasonable, and highly ethical."
