I guess starting at the beginning makes sense... Before I contacted Stephanie I was completely lost, hopeless, and very confused about my future, having been blindsided with a divorce service while serving on Active Duty with the USAF half-way across the country from my now, thanks to Stephanie, ex-w...ife. Plainly put, I had no idea what to do as my spouse was asking for the world, and I didn't want to go through a "messy divorce", so giving in to her demands just seemed like the easier route to go. Thankfully, I listened to my family and started searching the Twin Cities area for an experience attorney who understood the challenges of dealing with these life changes while serving in the military, and the special issues that come up like the G.I. Bill, TriCare, etc. I used my Google and found Steph right away, swallowed my pride, and gave her a call. She answered the phone herself and talked with me for almost two hours just at the drop of a hat because I needed the help. It’s probably the best two hours I've ever spent, as I felt such an immense sense of relief that my future would be alright and we'd get through this together, in one piece, and that my spouse wouldn't get even close to what she was asking in her divorce petition. My ex was betting on me not hiring a lawyer. I hired Steph the same day and she got right to work on my case, absolutely without hesitation. Right away, I could tell Steph was smart, kind, and very understanding of my predicament, not to mention extremely knowledgeable about divorce law. I was stationed in Maryland while my spouse and kids were living in Minnesota, so not only could I not deal with this in person, we had to deal with the time difference and my night-time work schedule. She was a rockstar in our one mediation session, and finally got my ex to see the light that she wasn't going to get the world like she was asking. She plays hardball and plays to win, it's fun to watch, but she's very compassionate and nice about it, Minnesota nice, don'tcha know? Hiring Stephanie to help me with this most difficult of life issues is one of the smartest things I’ve ever done; words can’t describe how much better I felt after our first talk on the phone. She saved me from making a huge mistake in just going along with what my ex-spouse wanted, and talked me through all of our available options along the way with a ridiculous amount of expertise. I wanted to go to law school before I met Steph, but now I’m dead-set on it just to get as smart as her.
