Charles has over 25 years of criminal case law experience.

Charles has been elected a member of the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice and and was elected MSCJ President for 2020-21. Charles is a member of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MACDL) and has also lectured for LawReview CLE teaching other attorneys on the basics and intricacies of DWI defense.
Charles has been recognized as one of the Top 100 DWI attorneys in Minnesota by The National Advocacy for DUI Defense, LLC (NAFDD) and was selected as one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense lawyers in the State of Minnesota by The American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA). Charles grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and in 1992 graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada with a degree in Finance and Economics. He currently resides in Plymouth with his wife and two sons.
