I moved from New York City to Minnesota in 2003 to work for the federal court. When I left the court in 2011, I joined Minnesota's vibrant community of sole practitioners and small firms. Since 2015 I was of counsel to the probate litigation boutique Mason & Helmers, where I represented people involved in court disputes with family members over loved ones' care and estates. In 2021 I took a position at the Minnesota Judicial Branch - Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility.

"Karin Ciano is an active member of the Twin Cities legal community. She is generous with her time and knowledge among the local bar. As an attorney, I can tell Karin is a person that wants to see other people succeed and a person that is committed to ensuring that legal work is done the right way. I have observed Karin interact with one of her litigation clients, and she effectively communicated a complex process to this client while explaining the legal work that Karin was going to do to help this client. Based on my experience with Karin, I would recommend her for litigation in state and federal courts, as well as probate matters."
