I have been representing people with disabilities for 30 years, my entire legal career. My grandfather had a severe disability, and I was raised witnessing how hard life can be when living with disabilities. I understand what you are going through.

My firm provides personalize representation. We are not part of the mass marketing, grab every client mentality found in many of the TV advertising firms. We are a small firm, and will get to know you as our client. We do not treat you as just a number or another case. When you call me, you talk to me. We return all phone calls, something which is lacking in today’s firms.

When we discuss your case, I will always tell you when it is, and when it is not in your best interest to hire a lawyer. Contrary to what TV advertisers tell you, sometimes you just don’t need to hire and pay an attorney. Some disabilities are so severe, they will automatically entitle you to benefits. Some people are in favorable age groups (over 50) which makes them more likely to get benefits based on their application, without having to pay an attorney. If I tell you not to hire anyone, I will spend the time with you to discuss your case, and provide you with the information you need to file your application on your own, and be available to answer your questions.

Our representation will not end if we get an unfavorable decision at your hearing. We will take your case to the Social Security Appeals Counsel, and to the District Court if appropriate. Before you hire an attorney, be sure to ask them if they will take your case to District Court if you lose. Most representatives will not file these appeals.

I have offices in both Minnesota and Arizona. Most think this means I winter in Phoenix, and spend summers in Minnesota. Actually, my time is split equally between my two offices each month. You can always reach me, no matter which office I am in.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my life and law partner Dennis Peterson. We enjoy traveling, gardening, volunteering and being home handymen.
