DUI vehicle forfeiture

On this repeat offense of mine they took my vehicle away and was lost on how to get it back. Everybody else quoted a way higher price than he charged. Steven responded to my emails always in a timely manner. I was able to drop off my documentation’s first the forfeiture notice to his secretary.(conve...niently located office downtown Minneapolis) And he got me vehicle buyback for a reasonably low price. He does good work and is truly giving back where most lawyers think of the job as a way to get rich off of desperate situations. Highly recommend.

Great!

Steven was great! He was always quick to get back to me on all the many questions I had and was just overall very pleasant to work with.. and he won my case :)

zero stars

Until I saw the above reviews I had decided to just leave my bad fortune alone in the past but since seeing the above reviews It has given me inspiration to open up about my experience with Steven Coon. Steven Coon was actually physically shaking when he tried to handle my civil case in 2011. Even th...ough I won my civil case he actually made circumstances worse in a case that a day-one public defender could have handled with flying colors. When I attempted to consult with him following two primary's testimony he got all shook up and told me he couldn't concentrate. I had to hire a new attorney to clean up his mess. When I tried to discuss follow-up and/or repair to my case he only insulted me and made denigrating statements. He attempted to sway me from reporting him to the board of professional responsibility with veiled threats. All in all I should admit that this outcome has mostly been my fault because I knew he was no good following two short interactions and I hired him anyway. This guy appears to have way more ego than intelligence and I can see from the above reviews I'm not the only person who knows it. Don't make the same mistake I made. This guy worked in a "Legal Service" for eight years taking phone calls. Hire an attorney whom has tenured and actual experience in a private law firm.

My former client was accused of domestic assault by his adult sister. His sister filed an order for protection against him and he hired me to represent him at the evidentiary hearing. We won. My client sent me an edible arrangement he was so pleased with the outcome. My client was subsequently criminally charged with domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call related to the same incident. My client's new criminal lawyer tried to get the charges dismissed based on the OFP decision, which the judge declined to do. So my client calls me up demanding that I contact the OFP judge and request she change some of the language in the order, and I explained that we really can't do that. My client then informed me that he was recording our conversation and intended to file a complaint against me and I discontinued the call. I do not know what the final outcome of the criminal matter was, but winning the OFP certainly did not hurt his defense and his review is nothing more than personal attack.

did not handle our case well

After one initial hiring meeting, he refused to meet with us to go over the already prepared trial documents and witness statements. Made factual errors in common with opposing attorneys and hurt our case. Charged us thousands for work we told him we did not want him to do. We feel after many thou...sand of $ of his fees paid he has lost he case for us.....and treated us disrespectfully in the process

I withdrew from representation because clients refused to pay me. Clients had a bad case and unrealistic expectations and wanted someone to blame.
