Marta M. Chou

Marta is an attorney in the litigation group at Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Marta assists businesses at all stages of the litigation process, including pre-litigation counsel, discovery, alternative dispute resolution, trial, appeal and settlement. She focuses her legal practice on representing, counseling and protecting clients in business and commercial litigation matters, inclusive of, but not limited to, vendor and dealer disputes, regulatory compliance, shareholder derivative suits, antitrust, product liability, unfair competition matters, government and public utility commission investigations, insurance recovery, and breach of contract actions. Marta collaborates with clients from a range of industries--manufacturing, power sports, agriculture, grocery, healthcare, insurance, retail, marketing and others.

Marta is active in a number of civic and professional organizations, including Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, the Federal Bar Association, the Minnesota State, Wisconsin State, Federal, American, and Hispanic Bar Associations. She is the former chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Diversity Committee where she created the Minnesota Minority Clerkship Program, as well as implemented the Class Action program with the Minneapolis Public Schools and Hazelden.
