João Medeiros is a dual-citizen of Brazil and the United States. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, which is recognized as one of the top law schools in the country. After receiving his law degree, he worked as an intern in the Trial Chamber of the ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia). Returning to Minnesota, he then served as a law clerk for judges in the Minnesota District Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
