I got my first DWI four or five years ago so when I was pulled over for broken headlights and blew a .09 it elevated the charges against me rather considerably. I called Jay initially just for a brief consultation but he ended up talking to me for more than a half hour, spelling out the road ahead an...d giving me very clear and detailed instructions on how to navigate the DMV’s numerous requirements to get my license valid again. Thanks to Jay, not only did I have Zero down time with my mobility, but it’s also worth mentioning that his excellent bedside manner did a lot to calm me down during what is a very stressful and scary time. Shortly thereafter I officially hired Mr Carey as my counsel and my day in court went so smoothly there’s almost nothing to say about it. I walked away with no jail time, just over two weeks of house arrest, a $300 fine, and 4 years of probation, very little of which is supervised at all. Jay even walked me over to the offices for my DWI assessment and talked to me about what sort of questions they would ask and what the outcome of that meeting would likely be (which he was right about). Jay was such a pleasure to work with. I had a unique situation where I had gotten a DUI as a passenger of an UBER vehicle. Long story short, my UBER vehicle had gotten into a collision on the hwy. When all vehicles came to a rest, one vehicle in particular had been obstructing the right traff...ic lane. Upon 911 Dispatch request, I moved the vehicle off of the road. Problem was, I had drank prior to going out that night. I admitted this to the officers on scene and was immediately given a sobriety test, to which I blew a .082. As a result, I had been arrested for a DUI. Not knowing what to do or who to call for help, I found Jay's ad on google search and decided to contact him. From the beginning Jay was eager to take on the case. Jay was diligent and knowledgable. I felt confident that he would know how to bring me the best result from this unique situation. To add complexity to my situation, not more than 2 months later, I had gotten my 2nd DUI. This was one I could not escape. I called Jay immediately. Although in a different county, Jay agreed to take this case as well. Working together, Jay was always realistic with me as we discussed the possible outcomes for both cases. He never gave me false hope or became over confident in his predeterminations. This allowed me to feel comfortable in regard to what was expected from each court's system. Over the course of a year, as result of Jay's diligent efforts and knowing what laws apply, he was able to get the first case (my UBER DUI) COMPLETELY DISMISSED and OFF THE BOOKS!! Like it never happened!! As for as the second case, we moved it along quickly and I had been granted a lower home monitoring program than originally suggested. Jay will also be assisting me in the request to release my probation from 4 years to an earlier date. When I had questions, Jay was reachable and responded to me in a timely manor. I also appreciate that Jay never made me feel as though I had been a hassle or burden. I have found that Jay excels in DUI Law and also multiple Minnesota Court Systems. I would not hesitate to recommend Jay to any person, including those who may also be in a unique situation.

When I got my first DWI, I was terrified at the consequences. When I got my second DWI a few months later, I thought my life was over. Luckily I hired Mr. Carey after my first one and he single handedly turned my life around and gave me a legitimate second chance. My first DWI got dropped to a carele...ss driving, and my second one ended up only counting as my first DWI. No jail time, no ignition interlock. Lost my license for a very brief time but Jay made sure to help me get a work permit.
