I am a hard-working attorney and I really enjoy the chance to develop a working relationship with my clients that often lasts for years and we go through different steps of the immigration process. I love using my foreign language skills at work. I find that it really helps clients feel listened too and feel more comfortable in doing the often difficult work we do.
When I am not working, I try to garden and spend time outdoors. I also train my dog.

“I am incredibly thankful for Angela’s support throughout my asylum case. From the beginning of our collaboration in August 2023 to receiving my granted asylum on July 31, 2024, she demonstrated unmatched professionalism, clear communication, and exceptional attention to detail. Her guidance made ev...

Angela did such a great job handling our case, she was very detailed oriented and focused every step of the way. She explained everything to us, answered all of our questions and concerns. Our process took over two years and during this time, she was understandable and down to earth. She handles her ...

Overpriced, and doesn’t actually pay attention to details. My case was denied because of a detail they overlooked and i keep on being charged for appeals, emails AND phone calls.
Obviously I cannot comment about the details of a specific case as those are confidential and privileged. These are serious issues and I would like to discuss them with you immediately if you are my client, but since the review is anonymous, I am not sure who to call. Please call my office immediately to discuss and resolve these problems. In complex cases, we often work on an hourly basis because there is no way for us to know how much time or effort we will have to put in. We do not just send bills out of the blue for no reason.

she was very understanding, nice, and helpful to me in helping me to meet the goals i set for myself. For four years i had been trying to get approval from USCIS on my immigration papers, just four months ago Angela became my lawyer and with the help of her and her staff i got a positive steps from ...

When I met Angela, it was my last attempt at trying to resolve my immigration situation. My file was "under review" with the USCIS for 5 years with absolutely no information on what the hold up was. We were very frustrated, disheartened and just plain done. We had worked with a well known "reputab...
"Ms. Bortel has been an invaluable source of information in a very complex area of law. Many of my clients require advice regarding the immigration consequences of their case, and Ms. Bortel has always been available to provide in-depth and thoughtful analysis of their case. I would recommend her to anyone who has questions relating to immigration or naturalization."
