John Thomas Trout

As a partner in the firm and member of the construction law and litigation practice groups, John T. Trout represents a wide range of business entities in transactional and litigation matters. Specifically, John's practice is focused on construction law and litigation, including:

Prior to becoming an attorney, John founded and operated a commercial concrete and masonry restoration business. He brings that experience and knowledge to clients who include contractors, subcontractors, owners, suppliers and design professionals. John represents his clients in mediations, arbitrations and district court actions regarding construction-related matters, including construction and design defects, mechanic’s liens, bonds, delay and disruption, payment, insurance and other disputes. John also provides counsel to his clients related to the preparation and negotiation of contracts and other general business matters.

John has experience representing clients at the appellate court level, including the successful appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court in Peggy Rose Revocable Trust v. Eppich, C3-00-1163, 640 N.W.2d 601 (Minn. 2002), a matter involving construction defects, fraud and arbitration.
