Since the year 2000, Christa Groshek has litigated cases before judges and juries in Minnesota and nationally. Christa often defends charges of criminal sexual conduct, child pornography possession / dissemination and production, child abuse and murder. Christa also regularly collaborates and consults with experts in child abuse cases - especially where allegations of "Shaken Baby Syndrome" or "Abusive Head Trauma" are brought. She also regularly works with experts in criminal sexual conduct cases who can opine about memory evidence and the proper collection of it, including the particulars of the forensic interviewing protocol.
In 2018, Christa developed a new way to practice by devoting three attorneys to every case. The "Groshek Method" of thoroughly investigating and rigorously defending cases is enjoyed by the firm's criminal, child protection, maltreatment, licensing, appeals and family clients.
Intense onboarding, consistent mentoring and ongoing training are also cornerstones of the "Groshek Method." Seven attorneys and five support staff offer Groshek Law clients professional and prompt service. Christa oversees the firm and guarantees that everyone at the firm delivers professional, prepared and proactive services to every client.
In addition to training Groshek Law staff, Christa has also authored a chapter on the complexities of representing juveniles in criminal court. Frequently, she is invited to provide legal commentary on local and national cases. She has been featured on Twin Cities media outlets as well as Bloomberg Law. Several of Christa's clients have garnered national media attention and the firm often choses to engage the media in an effort to ensure due process for its clients. Currently, a London documentary company is creating a short film about one of Groshek Law's most notable cases.
In 2000, Christa Groshek graduated Cum Laude from William Mitchell College of Law. During law school, Christa was a law clerk for the Washington County Public Defender's Office where she received her first criminal defense experience. Christa later took a position as the law clerk for the Honorable Thomas Armstrong in Stillwater, Minnesota. There, she worked in civil law, doing legal research and drafting orders.
Christa took her first attorney position at the Legal Rights Center in Minneapolis; she practiced criminal defense in Juvenile Court. After approximately one year, Christa joined the Hennepin County Public Defender's Office in downtown Minneapolis. Continuing in Juvenile Court she worked on Delinquencies and represented families in Child Protection cases.
After a total of three years experience in Juvenile Court, Christa transferred to the Adult Felony Trial Team. On the Trial Team, Christa handled many cases ranging from DWIs to Murder. In Christa's first year on the Trial Team, she handled more trials in one year than some private defense attorneys have in ten years. Significantly, 80% of those trials resulted in NOT GUILTY jury verdicts. Since that time, Ms. Groshek has handled thousands of cases with outstanding results; She has tried over 50 cases to juries.
Groshek Law is located in its own exclusive building in North Loop neighborhood in downtown Minneapolis. The firm is attached to a parking garage for convenience. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Highly recommend
After many years in the family court system, I finally found an attorney that would best represent the needs and wishes of my children. The whole staff at Groshek law showed genuine interest in getting to know our case. Mrs. Groshek treated me and our children as individuals and I felt very included ...

After extensive pretrial discovery and Paradee motions which allowed us access to the complaining witness' school and psychological records, we found evidence of their penchant for lying about abuse. The prosecutor dismissed the case.
