Chad A. Throndset

I drive a truck for a living and tickets and traffic violations are inevitable so I needed legal help. I was immediately interested in working with Chad because he had an easy going personality and a way about him that gave me the feeling he was confident and competent. I had a great comfort level ...after our initial conversation, and I felt that way throughout the process. I felt comfortable asking him any question no matter how stupid I thought it might be. I never once got the feeling that Chad looked down on me for being in the situation that I was in. He handled the entire process. He always returned my calls quickly. He answered all my questions and everything he told me he was going to do, he delivered on. I didn’t have to go to court because through his knowledge, hard work and extensive contacts he was able to get everything settled without a trial. Chad did a great job for me, and I plan to use him again for any tickets or other issues that may come up. He will be my first call in any legal situation I find myself.

Chad knows what he is doing. He was honest and straight forward with me throughout the entire process. I was kept up to speed on what he thought the outcome was going to be, even if it wasn't something I wanted to hear. He was also very helpful in preparing me for the trial so there were no surpri...ses. The final outcome of my case was better than I expected. He was also very knowledgeable about all the paperwork that is involved which made that part of the process much easier than I expected. He was great to work with.

I signed the $4,500 engagement fee (March 16th) and then decided to no longer proceed with my case after paternity was determined (April 13th). Throughout my time with Mr Throndset I had called numerous times and was unable to contact him directly along with finding out what progress had been made on... my case. I had negotiated and paid for my own paternity testing in which the child was not mine. I then called the office (Carlson & Jones, P.A.) to ask that Mr Throndset no longer continue my case. I e-mailed him directly to ask for a possible refund of my $4,500 fee. He contacted me 5 days later saying he got my e-mail and would consult with his partners first about a refund. I received a refund of only $1,500 where the other 3,000 was spent on research for my case (less than a month) and due to him having to turn down other cases. I don't believe those to be legitimate reasons since Mr Throndset barely had time enough to keep up with me, his client, let alone take on other cases. He was clearly overwhelmed with cases and I doubt the "research" he had done and time spent on my case was worth $3,000. I had expected a larger refund because I felt Mr Throndset was an inadequate lawyer and during my signing of the retainer he had mentioned he was a "good man" and would negotiate a refund if the case need be discontinued. -Joshua S.
