This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.

Reprimand/probation means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. The State also monitors the lawyer's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
Thomas' comment:“The discipline was a consequence of a 2005 incident that resulted from undiagnosed complex PTSD and Meniere's disease, with attendant depression. Since then, the Meniere's disease has been diagnosed and is being effectively treated with diuretics. Therapy revealed that cases involving child custody and abuse were PTSD triggers. Upon learning this, I voluntarily changed my practice from family law to business, IP and appeals. There have been no recurrences since the 2005 incident.”
