We were in need of an attorney. His name came up in our network legal aid. We retained him and from there the problems got bigger.
According to the investigators in the case for which we hired him he made blatant misrepresentations to us. He spoke to others about the case without written authorization. He said a meeting was suppose to take place but then was canceled because opposing party was unavailable. When I spoke to opposing party they stated they'd never spoken to him and never planned to meet at that time. He was our attorney for just a few days when we fired him. He will not return calls now and though the agreement states there may be a refund of retainer (since no work was actually done) we've heard nothing from him on the matter.
We ended up hiring another attorney in the area (who stated he'd not heard of Sjoberg) and we were most satisfied with his services.
I have 3 years of law training, have worked in a law office as a clerk and have experience with multiple attorney's. There are great, good, okay, poor and very bad attorneys… just like people. I would put him beneath all of those. I find he lack integrity and the moral turpitude required of his position. I believe he is more interested in helping a prosecution than helping his client based on my personal experience. I wish I could write some good about this person but I just can not find any redeeming quality as an attorney what-so-ever.
