Shortly after I began practicing family law, I reached the grim conclusion that the litigation process is a breeding ground for anxiety and suspicion. Although litigation is exhilarating and certainly appropriate in some cases, Collaboration is an efficient and logical divorce process choice for most families. A family in the throes of divorce is already in crisis, and litigation only exacerbates the family's anguish and distress. Fortunately, a divorcing couple has a choice.

Collaborative Practice provides family members with the tools they need to communicate better, heal the pain, and get on with life. I joined the Collaborative Law Institute (of Minnesota) in April 2004 and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals in 2006 and am committed to helping couples and families reorganize and move forward. Collaborative Practice utilizes both my legal and clinical psychology skills and allows me to help my clients face their next adventure with hope and optimism!
