About Joseph
Biography
Joe Henderson is a highly-respected and experienced estate planning and probate attorney. He is honored among his peers as a Super Lawyer—identified as the top 5% of attorneys in Minnesota; rated “AV-preeminent” with Martindale-Hubbell—the highest achievable rating; and rated “superb” with AVVO —the highest achievable category.
Joe is a native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He attended college at Saint Paul's University of St. Thomas, with majors in Business, Marketing and Political Science. After undergrad, he worked in Washington, DC as a Legislative Assistant to a Congressman and as a trade and tax lobbyist before returning home to attend the University of Minnesota Law School - consistently ranked as one of the top 20 law schools in the nation. Joe served as an Assistant Attorney General under Hubert H. Humphrey, III; an associate attorney with a Minneapolis corporate law firm; and as senior in-house corporate counsel with a global financial services company before launching his independent law practice. While in that role, Joe briefly served as the founder of an "at least I tried" software company. He has conversational competence in Spanish having studied it throughout his education and from a short stint living and studying in Guatemala.
Joe lives in Mahtomedi where he serves on the board of the Mahtomedi Area Educational Foundation. He and his wife Jill, run an active household with their hilarious identical twin boys Emmett and Edwin, and the sweetest dog on earth, Murray. They and their boys (and sometimes Murray) share a love of travel, lakes, football, skiing, the Great British Baking Show, and adventurous eating.

Joseph is great and compassionate
Joseph was great to work with after my mom passed away. He was friendly, compassionate and was able to answer all my questions regarding probate as they came up. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a lawyer after a loved one’s passing.
