A "Hands On" Approach to Your Legal Needs
In August of 2008, I was selected by fellow members of the Minnesota State Bar Association ("MSBA"), General Practice, Solo, and Small Firm Section to Chair the Section's governing Council. In addition to the involvement with the General Practice, Solo, and Small Firm Section, I am also actively involved with the MSBA Real Property Section and its Legislative Committee. This committee is charged with reviewing proposed changes to statutes involving real property in one way or another.
I am also a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Community Association Institute, the leading advocate for responsible community living; and, I am actively involved in the White Bear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce where I was previously elected to its board of directors and currently advise the leadership in a limited capacity.
Additionally, I have taught numerous classes through White Bear Lake Area Schools Community Education, South Washington County Community Education, Saint Paul College Community Education, and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s SCORE® "Counselors to America's Small Business."
As a practicing attorney, I have experience in both civil and criminal matters, both in public sector, and private. In the public sector I have worked in the Washington DC office of a U.S. Representative, the capitol office of a state representative, the administrative hearings division of the Public Utility Commission of Oregon (where I assisted the administrative law judges), and the chamber of a district court judge (where I worked on both criminal and civil matters before the court). I was also appointed as a U.S. Presidential Management Fellow and offered fellowship opportunities in the U.S. Department of Defense, the IRS, and the FBI, to name a few.
In the private sector I have worked for a Fortune 500 international corporation, at first within the human resources department, and then later in the legal department.
