Edward Jefferson Hitchcock

Practice is focused on estate planning, sports law and business.  Estate planning practice is centered on providing complex estate planning services to individuals and families. This includes revocable trusts, wills, marital and support trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives.  Has represented thousands of estate planning clients in the areas of general estate planning and estate tax planning.

Over twenty-five years experience representing professional athletes, coaches and team executives in contract negotiations.  Sports practice is concentrated on professional football and baseball players, sportscasters, coaches and team executives. Has also represented Olympic athletes, NASCAR drivers, MMA fighters and professional wrestlers.

Negotiated the largest NASCAR contract for a NASCAR driver in Minnesota history on behalf of Christian Elder and the Great Clips Race Team.  Spearheaded a national NFL marketing campaign on behalf of collegiate wrestling and WWE champion Brock Lesnar, resulting in an NFL contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Represented hundreds of professional athletes regarding their careers.

Extensive experience representing small and medium size businesses.  Corporate counsel for several small and medium size businesses.  Provides contract negotiations for complex business transactions.  Completed negotiations in 2010 of the purchase of an ownership interest of an NHL franchise.

Member of the Minnesota Bar Association, the NFL Player's Association as a Contract Advisor, as well as the Canadian Football League Player's Association.  Admitted to practice in Minnesota State Courts and the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota.
