Perry Mason of Minnesota

John Westrick represented me in a criminal proceeding in Ramsey County. We lost at the trial level, John argued the proper law where I was as a matter of law entitled to an immediate retrial, which the judge improperly denied. On appeal the case was reversed for the new trial I was improperly den...ied and the case was dismissed. John did a wonderful job and he's one of the best attorney's I know of. Truly a caring and devoted attorney to his client. He is excellent!

Zealous advocate, willing to fight the power.

It is rare to find an attorney who is willing to fight unpopular causes, to represent the weak against the powerful. Mr. Westrick represented me in ethics matters before the Minnesota Office of Lawyer's Professional Responsibility and in an appeal of discipline to the Minnesota Supreme Court. He wa...s successful in getting the discipline cut in half and we prevailed, in part, on a very important issue, on appeal. Prior attorneys had declined, or withdrawn from, representation and wanted me to admit to things which I had not done, for convenience rather than honor. John G. Westrick, Esquire, in contrast, was willing to fight for my honor. Allegations from three powerful judges, and a crafty opposing counsel, in a six-year, relentless OLPR prosecution, are hard to fight. A former marine, like my father, he knows it is not the result of the battle, but the courage displayed in it, which matters. If you need a "man in the arena," I highly recommend Attorney and Counselor Westrick.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
