Courtney graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she served on the Jessup Moot Court Team, was the founder of the Oklahoma International Law Society, where she worked with many students from different countries to navigate through American culture and law, and was the leader of numerous other organizations.
She received the Pros for Africa Fellowship her first year and spent the summer in Kampala, Uganda working with the local government and spent her last semester in Costa Rica working for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. During law school she was also able to travel to Colombia and meet with indigenous tribal leaders. With her team, she wrote a report that was cited by the United Nations regarding best practices for indigenous Colombians.
After law school, she lived in Daegu, South Korea where she taught English and worked with human rights organizations. Courtney considers herself a citizen of the world and has experience working with individuals from all countries.
Most recently, she has been involved in an initiative with the Minnesota State Bar Association in Kosovo. After a brief trip to Pristina, Kosovo, where she and 3 other MSBA members met with leaders throughout the country, she and the other delegates have since began working with Chief Justice John Tunheim and Judge Paul Scoggin in assisting to develop the bar association in Kosovo.
For 12 years, Courtney has worked at her family construction business where she has learned the ins and outs of the construction industry, has experienced first hand the difficulties that come with this industry, and understands your needs. In addition, her primary practice areas in both law school and as an attorney have been in the immigration and small business sector.
