My experienced with Allison Mixim Law firm

I contacted the Maxim law firm because I was going through some legal problems (family matters) that I could not handle. At this point, I have been to the courts multiple times with no clear understanding. Allison and her staff were very knowledgeable about my case and they helped me settled my case.... I am so please with the level of professionalism that they exhibited. Plus, they are some of the honest law people I have encounter. I will recommend my friends and family and anyone who is struggling with legal matters within the family courts, to talk to them first.

I recommend Allison Maxim 100%! She is very knowlegeable, professional, and easy to work with.

I was referred to Allison by a friend who worked with her. I am so happy I decided to hire her. She was quick to respond to all my questions. She looked out for my best interests and recommended stuff that I didn't even know I was entitled too. She helped me reach an amicable divorce settlement. ... She is also very upfront with her fees and her rates are reasonable. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a lawyer of the highest integrity.

Thank you

Allison Maxim has been representing me the past three years in child custody matters. My case is complicated and complex. Allison's compassion for looking out for the best interest of a minor with special needs is reassuring. In an emergency situation she was available to guide me through some very ...sensitive issues from a perspective of a legal stance and from one parent to another. Allison was my stability and voice of reason when all the crazy broke loose, she will always hold a special spot in my heart for all she did for me and my family. Words can never adequately express my gratitude. If you are looking for a calm, respectable, knowledgeable, well seasoned lawyer I highly recommend Allison Maxim.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2013.

Reprimand issued in MN, 2013

updated on 01/12/2026

Reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Allison’s comment:

“Over 13 years ago, I posted a fake review of an opposing attorney on a very high conflict case I had with her. It was a stupid thing to do and I apologized to her and reported myself to the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, which resulted in the reprimand. This sanction did not involve anything having to do with how I handle my own client's cases or their funds. I have handled many cases since then with positive reviews and feedback. I am happy to answer any questions about it.”
