Ryan: My Shield, my Destroyer!

In my TRO case, I hired Ryan to defend me against an IMO, malicious petitioner—a model I hired years earlier—who, instead of filing a Contract Dispute Lawsuit, she filed a TRO to harm my reputation by omitting material facts and making baseless claims that never existed, nor could she present any ev...idence to support. Unfortunately, Eau Claire has some activists on the bench who, in my opinion, bring their biased agenda into the courtroom, i.e. contempt for due process, white males, & the presumption of innocence. (via public statements!) The Court Commissioner, a well known Democrat Activist, interrupted my testimony in the initial hearing, allowing only One question to be answered "How long have you been a photographer?" -before saying she had heard enough, and granting the injunction to the petitioner, leaving me screwed, perhaps because I am a white male described in the filing. However, she never saw me because she refused to postpone the hearing for a better day when I could make the 4 hour drive in better weather than attempting to drive through an Ice Storm! I was allowed to listen and speak on my phone's speaker, not a Zoom meeting! Ryan’s motion to hold the hearing at a later date was rejected! It seemed to me like this Cosplaying Hack on the Bench was only trying to move through the formalities to reach her predetermined conclusion because of some sort of "White Male Privilege" that she apparently thinks I have. For example, the hearing proceeded with the petitioner being allowed to cry the whole time. Then, Ryan began his cross examination where he absolutely destroyed her lies, and many more would have been destroyed IF I were allowed to present MY side of the story, with Evidence, and Facts that I could support, which was ultimately rejected by the Activist CC. Clearly we destroyed the petitioner with her own answers! But even with all the facts and truth on Our Side, that’s the reality of Eau Claire County, aka. Fly-over country, where points of law are dismissed over a judge's/court commissioner's personal feelings. Our De Novo review went much better; however, once again, we were facing a judge who, in my opinion, virtue-signaled in front of his all-female staff. Although Ryan made a motion to dismiss, once again because the standard for harassment was not met, and demonstrated the petitioner should have filed a Contract Dispute Lawsuit (in which she clearly breached!) instead of a TRO! Along with apparent ignorance based on her previous statements, she believed the judge would somehow order me to issue her a check for “damages” $ without a TRO! Although we won the dismissal, it came at a cost when the judge went off record and, in my opinion, coerced/strong-armed me into destroying an estimated $30K in intellectual property, to learn what his final judgment would be after he took Ryan's advisement to dismiss the case altogether. Although we won the dismissal, In my case, I believe the judge was moved by the performance act that seemed obvious to me by the petitioner, who I think it is safe to suggest Ryan got her to expose herself as a malicious pathological liar bent on revenge for something she should have thought about years earlier, before signing my modeling releases (twice!) that were created over 30 years ago, which shielded me from the criminal investigation. Thanks to her, the DA, four hours away, ultimately decided not to file any criminal charges based on the language contained in the modeling release which she omitted in the TRO petition. Despite that, you people in Eau Claire are really in a bad spot because I think it is obvious that the CC and Judge were not making their decisions based on the evidence or points of law, but on their own personal feelings instead. Thank God for Ryan!

Very Thorough, Detail Oriented & Incredibly Honest

I was given Mr. Moertel's number after cold-calling local attorneys seeking representation for a specific circumstance. From the start Ryan was 100% honest with realistic possible solutions in my case and was honest with where he felt the case could land under given scenarios. Early on, Mr. Moertel ...took my numerous worries in this scenario off my shoulders and told me to entrust him going forward after he saw the bigger picture. He represented me fiercely and fairly and in the end he was successful at gaining a favorable resolution to my case. Early in my search for an attorney I was told word-of-mouth that Mr. Moertel was a very smart choice for representation and I am very happy to say he delivered amazing representation and we were successful in the end. Absolutely will recommend him to everyone going forward.

Does not fill you full of hops and dreams, tells it how it is.

He is really good, he is up front and does not fill you full of crap. He tells it how it is and does not hold anything back, he fought my case for me and I did take a plea deal he offered but the DA didn't want to except it and when Ryan called me with an counter deal I told him where the DA could s...tick it and he agreed. All and all I give him 100% on his rating and I would hire him again if I need to.

Highly recommend

I was totally impressed by the skilled representation provided by Ryan Moertel as he defended my 19 y/o grandson, who struggles with learning and social limitations and self esteem issues. He was warmly supportive to my grandson and able to guide him to be able to take the stand in his own defense. R...yan exhibited a full knowledge of the law and was keenly able to lead a defense which was respectful to the court and very effective. He didn’t miss a proper use of objection to the prosecutor’s error and he was well prepared, very knowledgeable of every aspect of the case. I can’t thank him enough for preserving the integrity of my grandson, who was wrongly charged, and found not guilty with the defense of Ryan Moertel.
