THE BEST CRIMINAL ATTORNEY I'VE WORKED WITH, PERIOD.

I have past domestic misdemeanor convictions that I worked with two other attorneys on. Some things I did and some things I didn't but in one way or another all charges are visible to anyone who wants to see them. The two other attorneys I worked with in the past did little to help me that I could... not have done for myself but I thought that was just how having an attorney was supposed to go. Expensive and pointless pretty much. I have spent the past several years trying to better myself with no further instances of legal trouble when out of nowhere I was facing a first time felony charge of a financial nature. I made the mistake of speaking with a police officer without having an attorney present thinking everything was fine because I did not do anything wrong. I had no idea the officer would charge me with anything and I never saw it coming. That was my first mistake. My second mistake was going to an attorney that came recommended actually and hearing him tell me that I would be charged with the felony and then we would make our case to try and fight it. I wanted very badly for him to try and talk with the District Attorney prior to me being formally charged to see if the case could be dropped so it would not show on my record at all but he said it was best to not bother the DA because they were busy with a home invasion case. He said there was no point. He said it would not work. He said it would only make things worse. He was right. I fired him. I called up another attorney that helped a friend of mine and who I knew was amazing but worked in a different scope of law and he immediately referred me to Jennifer Lough. He said she was the best, and he was right. She sat down with me and listened to me. She knew what questions to ask and gathered up all the information necessary to approach the DA. Her intent was purely and simply to do what I had hoped and to have the case dropped before I was even formally charged with the crime. She did what I could never have done on my own. She went above and beyond to present the information that spoke to my innocence. There was nothing easy about what she did. This was no slam dunk misunderstanding with the police. I really felt and had reason to believe that my past convictions played a role in the officer's way of handling me and there was more. I called the police a few weeks prior because I nearly ran over two people in a very small car that failed to yield the right of way. The people after nearly hitting my car drove off but I had their plate. The same officer who was now charging me with a financial felony was the officer I talked to that day. That day he tried to tell me I was wrong. He said it was I who was supposed to yield to the other car even though their street came to an end and I was the oncoming traffic. I called his sergeant immediately that day who agreed I had the right of way and the officer called me back to apologize. Now, that same officer had an opportunity to charge with me with a financial related felony caused by a mistake with a check that was mailed to me by my employer. He even laughed about the traffic incident when he handed me the signature bond to my new felony situation. Jennifer knew how to approach this because she was a District Attorney for several years before becoming the best criminal defense attorney in La Crosse. She kept me informed the entire time. She is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin's version of Chicago, where tough people come from and she is a fighter. She waited in a courtroom for two hours just to catch the DA and speak to her about my case. I was never formally charged and the case was dropped. If I ever get a phone call from the police or find myself in front of a police officer asking me questions about ANYTHING, I WILL POLITELY DECLINE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE POLICE WITHOUT MY ATTORNEY, JENNIFER LOUGH, PRESENT! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP JENNIFER!

"I have known Jennifer Kovari since we were together in the district attorney's office. If she brings half of her passion, intelligence, and expertise to bear on behalf of her clients then those who are lucky enough to retain her can rest assured that they have one of the very best attorneys available. I endorse and recommend attorney Kovari without reservation."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Jennifer is a passionate and practical district attorney. I have been impressed by her demeanor and general wilingness to discuss resolution of cases. She is a former defense lawyer, so she seems to understand where I am coming from when we discuss cases, even if she doesn't agree. We have yet to have an actual trial against each other, but she is certainly a worthy adversary."
