I hired this attorney for a very simple family court matter. I made a huge mistake. He does not respond very well to emails, if at all. He sent about 10 emails about a certain topic for NO reason as they were not getting us anywhere. Then I am charged for them. He charged me for part of my initial co...nversation with him, never telling me this until I see the bill. I waited 2 weeks for a call back and made 3 calls total before getting one back. He sent me a time sensitive email and implied that I needed to answer him and he would pass the answer to the parties involved and then he never did tell them. I left him a voicemail the same day regarding difficulties with the party because of his inaction and requested a call back asap because of this and it is now 2 full business days later and still no word. Today I hired a new attorney who has a much better rating than this man. In my opinion, do NOT waste your money. I have gone through almost $1,500 and all he did was go to one court date and send countless useless emails. Then I had to call him to let him know that these emails were useless and he wasn't listening to me. Although he seems like a nice man, as an attorney; get someone else.

I hired Alf Langan for a family court case back in 2012. I wrote an honest poor review of my experience. Now he's disputing my review as if he never represented me. Here is my honest review below, as the original was removed due to his dishonest dispute. If you have this many Poor reviews and have ...also been disciplined as a lawyer, maybe you should take a look at your performance rather than get honest review removed. Very very unprofessional.He has a great paralegal daniel.But he just want money a more money and cant tell u whats going on with ur case.received and email from his paralegal the the DA was dropping the owi charge,get to court ask mr langan and he knows nothing,how are u going to represent me and you... not communicating with ur paralegal.PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt I had been unfairly blocked from receiving unemployment. While it was declined on appeal, it might have been the facts in the case. The job was a terrible fit for me anyway. Plus during the appeal, Mr Langan dressed down the HR manager and my former (incompetent) boss, that it was worth it jus...t to see them get verbally spanked in front of me. Just satisfying. Mr Langan also led us through creating our wills. He was again empathetic and realistic about what what the protection of a will can do and what it can’t. You can plan and plan, but everyone has to be realistic that no one can foresee every single eventuality. He has tiered will plans that clients based on how much you want his office to do. Are you busy and have lots of assets? Pay more to have his office file papers. Pay less if you can spend your own time filing papers with your financial institutions. Be aware that Mr Langan is one person in private practice with one paralegal. When an attorney is within a firm, there are partners that can assist when individuals have personal and family events, like any of us do. On the flip side of this arrangement, you get an experienced professional that takes the time to get to know you, your case and what’s important to you. Nothing in law moves as fast as it does on courtroom drama TV shows. You may want your legal business wrapped up quickly and behind you, but that’s not reality. Courts don’t work that way, government clerk offices don’t work that way. There’s no special secret to jumping to the head of the line. I highly recommend Mr Langan, a long standing member of the community, who sees each person as the individual they are without judgement.
