I was referred to Attorney Chewning from another attorney. I needed an attorney to handle my claim to SS for a work-related disability claim. I had already been denied once - hired an attorney to handle my appeal - the attorney contacted SS and that is all they did. My appeal sat dormat for several... months on the attorneys desk. Then I received a call that the attorney quit and another attorney in the office was handling my case - again it sat dormat for over a year this time. When I questioned the law firm - i expressed my disgust and pulled my business and went to Attorney Chewning. WOW - what a difference in professionalism! I met Don and after I left - I felt I was in the right hands to handle my case and finally something was going to be done. He contacted SS and told them the story of my past attorneys, he filled out the correct forms. He was able to file an appeal from my first denial and was able to get me the backpay from the first denial to the present. He talked to me like a friend whenever I contacted him. His secretaries were marvelous. They returned my calls, usually the same day, with the answers to my questions. If I needed to talk to Don, he would call me back the next moment he was available. I was copied on all the correspondences between him, my doctors and the SS office. He was completely honest through the whole case, telling me the truth about what was happening - not just telling me things I wanted to hear. In my opinion, I couldn't have gone to another attorney and expected anything more. Attorney Chewning went above and beyond to get me the backpay and a timely conclusion to my case. I have recommended him to several of my friends and relatives.

When you need a good attorney, call Don Chewney

I had an older sister approach me to help her file for Social Security Disability. She had a friend who originally filed for her and she was denied. I checked into a few things and thought, "Why not. It can't be that hard." Well I was wrong. I also helped her file and she was denied. We were both ver...y disappointed because we really felt we had a good case. One day I saw a commercial in regards to a law firm helping people apply and get SSI. I contacted them and were given an appointment right away to meet with Attorney Don Chewning. After our meeting with Mr. Chewning, my sister and I walked out of his office with renew hope that she would receive what was owed to her. We were right! Mr. Chewning was the answer to our prayers! I was so impressed with Mr Chewning that I approached him with concerns for a brother of mine also. After meeting with Mr. Chewning he said that he could not make any promises to us but felt that because of my brother's learning disability, he felt my brother would be eligible. There were a few things we needed to get done before going in front of the judge but Mr. Chewning let us know what needed to be taken care of and we took care of them. Again, he came through for us! Now with talking to my family and friends, I tell them that if you know someone who really needs help with applyng and receiving SSI, they need to contact Mr. Chewning at Winter, Chewning and Geary!!
