Denise R. Wilson

I am not your typical, newly minted lawyer. My background is a unique combination of life experiences and working for small/large corporations, and public schools. I was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar as of Sept 2020 and to the Western District Court of Wisconsin in October 2020. 

I am a Partner at Capital Law Group, S.C., practicing Family Law at our boutique firm.

Having a Bachelor’s and Masters in Education, I started my career in Maryland as a public-school teacher, then instructional designer on the East Coast and in New Mexico, including working for a Tribal School. Working for public schools, then federal agencies gave me a strong sense of why policy, our social structures, and access to our legal systems matter.

I went to Law School part time for 3.5 years while working full time, so you could say I am a focused individual. My goal is to use my management, problem solving, writing/ research skills, and communication skills as an attorney to provide access to legal services for real world problems.

While in law school, I caught fire talking about how constitutional law impacts our lives, learning how the administrative agencies that I provided training to developed the processes and regulations that underpinned my projects. Educational and family law classes focused my goal to solve real problems. Trial practice and working with clients in Law School showed me the possibilities for making a difference.

Now, I am putting a lifetime of experiences plus my law school training into practice.  I want to help.
