Leakhena Au

Leakhena is an associate at Fredrikson & Byron P.A.. She works on a wide range of matters regarding environmental issues.

Leakhena Au is a 2020 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. During law school, she was co-president of the Asian Law Students Association, Vice President of the Wisconsin International Law Student Association, Articles Editor for the Wisconsin International Law Journal, and worked in the school’s Academic Enhancement Program. She spent a semester studying international law at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, was a student associate in the Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic, and interned in the Wisconsin Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel and at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. She also won the Merighe National Environmental Negotiation Competition and was a regional semi-finalist in the Thomas Tang Moot Court competition. After law school, Leakhena spent a year as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Prior to law school, Leakhena served as a federal biologist and administrator for 15 yrs. She earned a M.S. from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, a James Ford Bell Fellow, and a Scholar in the MacArthur Interdisciplinary Graduate Program for Global Change. She also has a B.S. from the University of California at Berkeley.
