Attorney Juan S. Ramirez joined Cafferty, Scheidegger & Johnson, S.C. after practicing criminal defense as a Public Defender in Racine County for five years. Juan has represented adults and juveniles charged with crimes, handling misdemeanors and serious felony cases including drug offenses, gun crimes, domestic violence, operating while intoxicated offenses, property crimes, homicide, and sexual assault.

Juan is bilingual in English and Spanish and works with Spanish-speaking clients. Through his dedicated work, his client received an acquittal in a homicide case, for which Juan was awarded the Martin Hanson Memorial Prize by the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Juan prioritizes keeping his clients informed throughout the legal process and makes sure they understand every step of their case. He is passionate about obtaining the best results possible, whether an acquittal at trial or dismissal of the case.

Juan has specialized knowledge of how a criminal conviction can affect a client’s immigration status, and he applies that background to every case where immigration consequences are on the table. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Bay View Community Center. Juan resides in Milwaukee with his wife, Mariah.
