Not prepared/organized, does not advise well in divorce

Sarah was unorganized and not well versed in divorce law. At the one meeting I called to find out her status since I hadn't heard back from her, it was clear she hadn't looked at my documents and then tried to share that I hadn't sent them all over, despite her emailing me earlier to say that she had... gotten them. She also gave me bad financial advice which I thankfully did not take which would have impacted my finances in relation to Wisconsin property laws.

Relationship: Other

"Sarah served as mediator on a very difficult post-judgment divorce matter, and she did a wonderful job which ensured a positive resolution of the matter for the parties. She was very well prepared, attentive, compassionate and knowledgeable, and she was able to help both sides understand the other's perspective in a way that ultimately resolved the case. I highly recommend Sarah."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
