Examples of Patrick’s Recent Work with Clients
As one of the trial counsel for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc., Patrick was one of a team of O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing S.C. attorneys who successfully defended against a $50 million damage claim and received $18 million on a counterclaim relating to the lawsuit involving the radial retractable roof at Miller Park (the home of the Milwaukee Brewers). During the extensive discovery proceedings in this case, Patrick was issued a special deposition visa by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate in the United States and spent nearly a month preparing for and defending the depositions of client project personnel at the United States Embassy/Consulate in Osaka, Japan.
Successfully defended the contractual claims of a food vendor against a national grocer during a trial in federal court, resulting in a directed verdict in favor of his client.
Following the collapse of a farming client’s layer house, Patrick intervened in the subsequent investigation by engineers and insurance personnel and successfully obtained the recovery of insurance proceeds sufficient to reconstruct a modern facility and compensate his client for lost business income.
Successfully defended a manufacturer from anti-trust allegations of patent infringement, trade dress infringement and unfair competition in federal court.
Represented a manufacturer in the prosecution of a former employee for misappropriation of trade secrets and violation of a non-compete agreement
