Monika Ann Hartl

Attorney Hartl is a nurse and attorney exclusively practicing worker’s compensation law in Wisconsin and is not only a top-notch lawyer, but gained her nursing experience as an emergency room nurse in both New York City and St. Luke’s in Milwaukee.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Marquette University in 1987, where she received top honors and was inducted into two honors societies: Sigma Theta Tau and Alpha Sigma Nu. She attended law school at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1995, where she also received top honors and graduated at the head of her class. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, was inducted into the Order of the Coif and received American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law. Attorney Hartl gives seminars to fellow attorneys and health care providers on how to maximize benefits under Wisconsin Worker’s Compensation Law.

Attorney Hartl grew up in a German family, surrounded by tradesmen and the union. In her family, there were plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters, tool and die makers, bricklayers and masons. She truly understands the worker and the difficulties they may face in the work place, because they are a part of her extended family.

Outside of work, Attorney Hartl teaches catechism at her church. She also volunteers at German fest. She loves spending free time with her daughters as well as biking, swimming and kayaking. She is a devoted Harley Davidson fan, a fervent Golden Eagles and Badgers fan and speaks fluent German.
