I earned my degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1972, then recieved my Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School in 1977.  I frequently present and speak for the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Board of Trial Advocates, and Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers.  I am also a Civil Trial Practice Instructor at the University of Wisconsin Madison-Law School.

Excellent review of Don C. Prachthauser
Don Prachthauser is an excellent attorney who very much demonstrates care, concern and interest in his clients and their needs. In 2009 I was involved in a MVA accident and I sustained severe injuries. My wife and I were referred to Don by a mutual friend. I had never been in this type of legal situation before so I did not know how the process worked nor what to expect. Don very kindly guided us through the issues at hand and explained everything and we were able to reach a successful and equitable resolution of our legal matter with all the parties involved. My wife and I enjoyed very much working with Don, we put our complete trust in him and we felt very comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process. Don is also very well regarded and respected by his peers. This was very apparent with all the people and attorneys that we met along the way. I consider Don my friend and I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of legal assistance.

Don Prachthauser is a very honest and compassionate lawyer. He is a good listener and explained each step of the legal process regarding our case. He gave us very realistic expectations.The lawyer representing the insurance company was very good. We had actually used him before to defend our company on another case. When he saw that Don Prachthauser was defending us in our personal case, he did not dispute our settlement that we had requested. We would highly recommend him in any personal injury case.

Helped us when we needed it the most
Don and his team helped us through a very difficult time in our lives following a horrible traffic accident caused by a drunk driver. They were there right away to advise my wife soon after the incident as soon as they were referred to us by a family member. They kept us informed of all information needed and the long process that was going to follow. Don and Kevin were there every step of the way and were knowledgable of what was needed to keep our perspective clear during the almost three and half years of legal proceedings. Their expertise was insurmountable in keeping our sanity during this whole ordeal which we are most thankful. Don and the team also gave my children the confidence that I was in the most professional hands with only my intentions as the most important thing. I can not state enough how Don and his team did for my family and I as they were just so pro during this event in our lives. Ones could only hope that this team could help them in time of need as we did. Another Satisfied Client
Don was extremely knowledgeable of injury liabilities between all involved and was forthcoming with that knowledge. His responsiveness was commendable, whether by phone, email or one-on-one. There was never a point in time where I felt distant or in the dark. He kept me in the loop throughout the entire process to the point I felt I was serving as third chair in the process. On the Job Injury
My husband was hurt on the job due to the negligence of another company. Don and his group spent a good amount of time investigating our case. Making sure all information that we provided and the other party provided was correct. He and his team thoroughly explained every aspect of our case as the case moved to a close. He also made us feel that we weren't just a number, that we were his client that he cared about. I have recommended Don and his team to a number of people and will continue to do so in the future.

From our initial visit, Mr. Prachthauer was very thorough, straight forward and honest in our dealings. He took a great deal of time in explaining options in our case and provided excellent legal advice in leading to the successful conclusion of our case. He was very supportive throughout and always available to answer any questions. His fees were fair. He and his staff made sure all of the fillings, disbursements of settlements in the complex case were timely and correct. Extremely pleased with his work.
