Adam Schleis

Before joining our firm, Adam worked for seven years in the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office as a trial-level defense lawyer. His practice not only included criminal defense, but also expanded to include Juvenile, mental health, guardianship, child protective services, and family law cases. All his clients were represented from pre-charge until jury trial stage if necessary. In the past eight years alone he has tried many cases in front of a jury; most recently earning a full acquittal for one felony charge client.

Adam graduated in the top 1/3 of his class from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with his J.D. in 2014. He interned with the Public Defender’s office during summer and fall 2013. In addition, he served as a discussion group leader for LLM students who were studying Property Law, International Business Transactions, and Real Estate Law from China. Adam did exceptionally well in his 4th Amendment Motion Practice class, 5th Amendment Motion Practice class, 6th Amendment Motion Practice class, and Property Law course earning top marks each time.

Adam graduated from law school and, since then, he has coached high school mock trial for two schools. Additionally, Adam volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters "Mentor 2.0" program where he mentored a student throughout their high school years. His wife Arial is a managing attorney for the Public Defender's office and they have one daughter named Scarlett. In his free time, Adam loves spending time with his family doing outdoor activities like bike riding and going to Atwater Beach. He also enjoys trying different breweries and beer gardens.
